In addition to artifacts from Wilson and the surrounding communities, the Museum has some special collections, archives and exhibits. These include:

Mary Jones Wilson Archives

About twenty years ago, Mary began to collect historical and genealogical information about towns and families in the south central part of Oklahoma. Her extensive collection is gradually being incorporated into the Museum’s holdings.

Carl Cumpton

Carl Cumpton Boy Scout Collection

Carl was a Boy Scout for over 75 years; during that time he did everything there is to do with scouting. In addition, he was instrumental in the development of Camp Simpson, a Boy Scout camp located near Bromide, Oklahoma.

Skinny Stewart Collection

Skinny graduated from Wilson in 1944 and after being an All-American football player at Southeastern State he played with the Washington Redskins until an injury cut short his career. He later taught in Wilson.

Lldean Alexander Collection

Dean graduated from Wilson in 1950. He became famous for breeding, showing and working with Appaloosa horses. In 1989 one of Dean’s horses was inducted into the Appaloosa Hall of Fame; Dean was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003.

Chuck Norris Exhibit

Chuck, famous for his role in “Walker, Texas Ranger”, was born in 1940 in Ryan, Oklahoma. He moved to California at the age of 12; however, his grandmother, Agnes Scarberry, lived in Wilson for many years. Chuck spent a lot of time in Wilson while he was growing up. For a few years in the early 1990’s there was a Chuck Norris Museum in Wilson; the Wilson Historical Museum contains a small Chuck Norris exhibit.
