Historical Society
The Wilson Historical Society, Inc. was founded November 5, 1998. The museum opened on November 3, 2001.
The specific purposes of the Society are to: (1) collect, display and preserve records and artifacts of the city of Wilson and the surrounding communities, and its people, and (2) develop and promote the Museum.
The Wilson Historical Society and Museum is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers visitors a look into the history of Wilson and the surrounding communities. We do not receive financial support from the city of Wilson, or from any local, state or federal government agency. In order to ensure the long-run financial stability of the Wilson Historical Society and Museum an Endowment has been established.
The Wilson Historical Society meets the first Wednesday of most months. Come join us as we work to preserve the history of Wilson and the surrounding region.
As a non-profit organization, annual membership dues for the Wilson Historical Society may be tax-deductible. Please contact your tax advisor for more information. We now accept payment for new memberships and renewals online via our Membership page. New/renewal memberships can also be remitted via mail by clicking here and following the instructions.
