Historical Society
The Wilson Historical Society, Inc. was founded November 5, 1998.
The specific purposes of the Society are to: (1) collect, display and preserve records and artifacts of the city of Wilson and the surrounding communities, and its people, and (2) develop and promote the Museum.
The Wilson Historical Society and Museum is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization that offers visitors a look into the history of Wilson and the surrounding communities.
In order to ensure the long-run financial stability of the Wilson Historical Society and Museum an Endowment Trust Fund was established in 2000. The goal is to fund most or all of the on-going operating expenses of the Museum through distributions from the Endowment.
The Wilson Historical Society meets for a pot-luck lunch the first Wednesday of each month. Come join us for good food and company as we work to preserve the history of Wilson and the surrounding region.
Membership dues for the Wilson Historical Society are tax-deductible, and provide membership for the calendar year (except for a life-time membership).
