Monetary Donations
Your support of the Wilson Historical Society and Museum would be greatly appreciated. Since the Wilson Historical Society is 501(c)3 organization, all donations are tax deductible. Donors receive a receipt for their donation.
Non-designated donations
Monetary donations help the Museum grow and expand. Non-designated donations help meet the costs of running the Museum. These include utilities, supplies, insurance, repairs, etc.; all of these on-going expenses are paid by the Wilson Historical Society. The money received from donations made by Museum visitors, memberships, and profit from the sale of items in the
Museum store provides part of the funds needed to meet on-going expenses. Additional donations and distributions from the Endowment are necessary to cover the rest of the operating expenses and to expand/improve the Museum.
Endowment donations
The purpose of the Endowment is to provide long-term financial support to the Society and Museum. Click here for more about the Endowment. The Endowment has a current value of about $145,000; plans are to grow the Endowment to $175,000, then to $250,000 and ultimately to substantially over $1 million. Your contributions to the Endowment would be greatly appreciated!
Donations to the Endowment can be made in three ways:
- A direct donation to the Endowment
- A donation “in memory of” loved ones or friends, or a donation “in honor of” someone who is still living. Click here to see those who have been memorialized or honored. The appropriate individual or family will receive a note indicating a donation has been made to the Wilson Historical Society. All donations in memory/honor are recorded in an album in the Museum and listed on our website, and serve as a permanent and lasting gift to help retain the history of Wilson and the surrounding communities.
- A bequest or planned gift to support the Museum. The Wilson Historical Society and Museum is honored to recognize members of The Wilson Legacy, which honors our friends who have created a bequest or planned gift to support our efforts. Individuals interested in making a bequest or planned gift who want further information are encouraged to contact us through our website, or they can call George Pinches at (580) 224-0766, or (580) 504-4077.
